A survey conducted by Mollie Carmichael, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realestateconsulting.com\/\">John Burns Real Estate Consulting<\/a>, begs to differ on that point.  The survey conducted in the fall of 2013, asking 20,000 active home buyers, about the features they would want in a kitchen, bathroom, and dining room, produced results that do not necessarily have anything to do with housing features.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slightly over 50% of the people looking for houses, did not have kids, and only 30% had kids under 18.<\/li>\n<li>The number of multi-generational households in the survey was low, but many builders are still looking at building new homes with space for extended family.<\/li>\n<li>Many of the  people in the survey were looking for a space they could disconnect.<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate brown cabinets, and cream-colored counter tops were popular.<\/li>\n<li>Interior spaces that flowed easily into an outdoor space, was considered an important ingredient in the disconnecting process.<\/li>\n<li>A big shower is important, as is a tub, but many said they did not actively use their tub.<\/li>\n<li>Dining rooms are still considered important.<\/li>\n<li>Large laundry rooms, generated a lot of excitement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For assistance in buying or selling your home, <a href=\"\/la\/contact-form\" target=\"_blank\">contact us<\/a><\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Back in February 2014, a survey done at Houzz.com reported that the tub was losing popularity.
