Will be easy to detect insufficient insulation, or air leaks around windows or doors.<br \/>\n&#8211; Very long icicles may be a need for more insulation in an attic space.<br \/>\n&#8211; Uneven snow melt on a roof could also be an indication of poor insulation.<br \/>\n&#8211; Is the second floor or basement adequately heated.<br \/>\n&#8211; If basement is unfinished, check for uninsulated pipes attached to an outside wall. Pipes run in an uninsulated exterior wall, have a high probability of bursting or freezing due to cold.<br \/>\n&#8211; Are the floors cold or warm to the touch.
