In the October 27, 2013 Chicago Tribune, there was on article that shared a survey conducted by Houzz.com on how granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances may be losing their luster.
Here are the highlights from the survey:
- Stainless steel appliances are still popular, many are adding fronts to match cabinet color choices
- White is becoming a popular kitchen color, second favorite color choice is brown, with gray coming in third.
- Improving look and feel of kitchen is reason many remodeled.
- One of main ways to improve functionality of kitchen is to add an island.
- Almost half of those who remodeled, installed hardwood floors to match existing hardwood floors in other parts of house.
